Spring is here

Flowers are blooming, birds are nesting and tornados and storms are here!  I hate storms.  Thunder scares me a lot.  Yesterday was really scary.  The people on the tv were telling us about tornados all around and I crawled under Denise's legs.  She tried to calm me down by massaging my back muscles, and it helped a little.  Then the wind started sounding like a train and we all went into the bathroom to wait it out.  Sugar and I really didn't want to go into the bathroom because we were afraid we would get a bath, but Denise talked us into it.  It wasn't so bad.  Denise sat in the floor with us and we got some petting.

Today is sunny and colder.  It's nice.  I've already been out for a run and had a nap (or two).  I like naps.

Babies

Denise's daughter, Sarah, and her husband had a baby last year.  She is a girl.  She used to make me really nervous.  I would chew up my bed and toys and anything else I could find.  It seems like I remember that a little kid hurt me once, but so far this little one is OK.  She is gentle and doesn't bother me when I feel bad. She's OK.  But now, they say that Matt, Denise's son, and his wife are going to have a baby boy.  I don't know about baby boys.  I have a few months left before he gets here.  This could get ugly.

Spring Flowers!

Oh, boy!  The weather is warmer and the daffodils and crocuses are blooming.  I love it when the crocuses bloom.  They feel so good under my feet.

no felt

Well, Denise closed Owl Tree Gallery and is staying home with us now. She's been really busy getting boxes unpacked. She just keeps pulling things out and finding places to put them, but she's not really unpacked any owls yet. I don't know how those owls are living in boxes with no food or water. Maybe they sneak out at night and eat mice. Sugar would probably be keeping us all awake if they were coming out at night though. I'll have to remember to ask Max if he's seen any owls sneaking around outside at night. Maybe she left the owl boxes outside. Max is probably too dumb to know what an owl is though.

It's nice to get to stay inside most of the day on my bed if I want to. I like being a dog of leisure. I get more crumbs, too, since Denise is cooking more. I think we may both get bigger.

Pumpkin & cushaw squashes--Blech.

Here are the stupid squashes that Denise made. I wish I could squash them! But they just spring right back. Maybe I could chew them and blame it on Sugar. Come to think of it, I could probably get her to chew them.

July 4th

Dear Beth, Denise lets me stay inside all the time except when everybody is gone. Even when everybody is gone she lets me say inside if she knows it will storm. I have also dug out a cave underneath the porch that feels pretty safe. I don't let Sugar or Max get in it. It stormed the other day and I climbed inside a small box. Most of me hung out over it, but it was under the desk so it was ok.

No dogs yet.

Denise made another felted thing called a "pumpkin." No DOGS yet! And she made a cushaw squash. I think I'm going to have to chew on her ankle a while. She's teaching a class in needle felting tomorrow night. I wish she would think about me while she's at work sometime and make a felted dog. Now that Sarah has a baby coming she's not making anything except baby clothes and blankets. I'm disgusted. Think I'll take a nap.
